Systemic approach can eliminate cancer disparities

Some health systems are  cancer disparities between Black and white patients by using a three-pronged approach found to eliminate cancer disparities completely in a 2015 study and subsequent . They use a real-time electronic health record alert system to identify patients for missed care milestones, rely on trained patient navigators to assist individual patients in overcoming care barriers and implement clinical team feedback on treatment completion rates according to race. Greensboro, N.C.-based Cone Health credits the approach with closing racial gaps and improving care delivery for all.
