ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉústudy: Staff recruitment, retention top challenges

Nearly half of nurse leaders identified staff recruitment and retention as their top concerns, according to the sixth iteration of the Nursing Leadership Insight study, released this week. The study was conducted by AONL, the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú for Nursing Leadership Research and Education and Joslin Insight. Staff emotional health and well-being ranked third, highlighted by 34% of respondents, which was an improvement from the previous study in which 45% said it was a top concern. Workplace violence, bullying and incivility were cited by 25% of leaders, underscoring the need for safer and more respectful work environments. Begun in 2020, the longitudinal survey monitors key areas over time. The survey was conducted from Jan. 8 to 22 and garnered 3,128 responses ─ the highest response rate to date, with 73% completed. The study is available on the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúwebsite.
