February’s Nurse Leader contains an with ��������2023 keynote speaker artist Phil Hansen. While in art school, Hansen developed nerve damage causing his drawing hand to shake. He dropped out of school. While the condition would have ended many art careers, Hansen persevered. He returned to art three years later and created innovative multimedia works. Millions of people have viewed his art videos, and the 51st Grammy Awards in 2008 named him its official artist. The Q & A delves into Hansen’s journey and his motivation to “embrace the shake,” as he refers to his condition. Hansen will discuss the lessons he learned at AONL’s annual conference in Anaheim, Calif., May 1-4.
