AHA statement discusses Congressional support for post-acute care access

The American Hospital Association  how Congress could better support patient access to post-acute care in  for a  held by the House Committee on Ways and Means Subcommittee on Health. The AHA calls for meaningful, long-term solutions and investments in workforce development to replace 鈥渟top-gap measures, reimbursement cuts and punitive regulations.鈥 Congress should support the Healthcare Workforce Resilience Act, visa recapture initiatives and the Health Resources and Services Administration鈥檚 health professions and nursing workforce development programs. It also urges Congress to repeal the minimum staffing rule for long-term care facilities in favor of strategies taking a more patient- and workforce-centered approach to ensure long-term care facilities can continually assess and adjust their staffing levels as needed (AHA News , 3/11/25)
