In an American Hospital Association (AHA) , two clinicians from Ochsner Medical Center, New Orleans, explain how their organization made significant quality improvements. Armin Schubert, MD, MBA, vice president for medical affairs, and Ryan Truxillo, MD, a family medicine specialist, discuss how Ochsner confronted the problem of patient deterioration and made changes that resulted in dramatic improvement over a two-year period. Ochsner was a 2022 finalist for AHA’s Quest for Quality Prize, presented annually to honor leadership and innovation in achieving high-quality health care and advancing health in communities.
