This week the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Safer Together: A National Action Plan to Advance Patient Safety. The 41-page contains implementation tactics, case examples, tools and resources focused on improving culture, leadership and governance, workforce safety and learning systems. ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúPast President Mary Beth Kingston, PhD, RN, CNO of Advocate Aurora Health, co-chaired the IHI committee responsible for developing the plan. In addition to protecting patients, a culture of safety also promotes the psychological well-being of those providing their care, Kingston observed. (HealthLeaders Media , 9/15/20)
