AHA shares workforce policy priorities with Senate HELP Committee
Last week, ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú (AHA) the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) to prioritize actions and programs that will support the nation’s health care workforce in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. These measures, which ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúalso supports, include ensuring adequate funding for Nursing Workforce Development programs; passing bipartisan legislation to expedite the visa authorization process for nurses; enacting provisions to reduce and prevent suicide, burnout and behavioral health disorders among health care professionals; and providing additional funding to support national research and demonstration programs related to clinician well-being.
