The Nursing Community Coalition a statement honoring former Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson, D-Texas, who died last week. A trailblazer, Johnson was the first Black chief psychiatric nurse serving the nation’s veterans in Dallas, Texas, a state House and Senate leader, and the first nurse elected to Congress. The NCC, which includes ��������and 62 other national nursing organizations, praised her for her nursing advocacy in Congress, noting her legacy “will continue to be an inspiration to all.” (NCC , 1/4/24)
