NCC expresses concerns with House appropriations committee bill

ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúand the other 63 members of the Nursing Community Coalition  concerns with the House Appropriations Committee’s fiscal year 2025 Labor, Health and Human Services and Education bill. The bill proposes $287.129 million for Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development programs ─ an $18.343 million decrease from FY 2024 enacted levels and less than the $530 million the NCC requested. The coalition disagrees with a provision to eliminate the Nursing Workforce Diversity program. In addition, it opposes a provision to consolidate the National Institute of Nursing Research and four other institutes and centers into a combined National Institute on Health Sciences Research. The NCC says it looks forward to working with Congress to restore and elevate nursing program and research funding in FY 2025. (NCC , 7/11/24)
