Mobile app improves nurse satisfaction, retention

Los Angeles General Medical Center’s  of a mobile application facilitating real-time feedback from front-line nurses to the CNO improved nurse satisfaction and retention, a study found. Published in the October issue of Nurse Leader, the study involved 321 nurses over a six-month period, focusing on communication, enhancement, empowerment and turnover rates. Front-line nurses used an application to provide immediate and ongoing feedback to CNO Nancy Blake, PhD, RN, who responded the same day. Blake, an ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúmember,  monthly updates on plans to resolve issue or to praise successes. Turnover rates declined from 22% the previous year to 13% during the study, and 90% of participants felt the application helped or may have helped improve communication with their leaders.
