Failure to complete MOPS hospital survey may bring prosecution, penalties
Hospitals receiving the Management and Organizational Practices Survey-Hospitals (MOPS-H) are legally to respond. The Census Bureau sent the survey to many chief nursing officers this summer to better understand current and evolving management and organizational practices in hospitals. The MOPS-H survey must be returned by August 19 or within 30 days of receiving, whichever is later. Failure to respond may result in fines or prosecution. According to Census Bureau , 鈥淭itle 13 (Section 224) and the Sentencing Reform Act of 1984 (18, U.S.C. 3559 and 3571) allow for possible prosecution of responsible officials and penalties up to $5,000 (and a response is still required).鈥
