CDC releases COVID-19 resources for the disabled and their caregivers
To address the unique challenges the COVID-19 pandemic produced for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) a communication resources , which explains in plain language how these people and their caregivers can protect themselves from the virus. Social stories, videos, posters and interactive activities focus on topics such as getting a COVID-19 vaccine, wearing a mask, social distancing, hand washing and COVID-19 testing. The toolkit also contains a for caregivers offering suggestions for ways to ease their loved one’s worries about the virus.
