ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúleaders discuss how to strengthen nurse workforce

In an American Hospital Association , ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúCEO Claire Zangerle, DNP, RN, and ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúBoard Member Joel Moore, DNP, RN, discuss the health care workforce and offer solutions to address staffing challenges. Zangerle, who also serves as AHA senior vice president and CNE, and Moore, who is MercyOne Genesis CNO in Davenport, Iowa, and ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúWorkforce Committee chair, focus on the AHA’s  and how organizations can rethink culture, improve workforce pipelines and leverage partnerships to build a stronger workforce. They call on leaders to engage front-line nurses and include them in decision-making about technology innovation, redesigning care models and establishing healthy work environments. Moore says leaders should emphasize flexibility and community engagement to attract young people to the profession.
