ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúreleased its 2024 advocacy priorities. The organization will support legislative efforts to increase the health care workforce and strengthen capacity; protect and support health care workers; and address nurse faculty and clinical site shortages. ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúhas targeted nine bills to advocate for this year. The bills include provisions to expedite visas for foreign-trained nurses in medically underserved areas and creating a national graduate nurse education program. Other bills will protect health care workers from workplace violence and provide grants for health care organizations to offer behavioral health services for front-line workers. In addition, ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúwill support bills to establish a pilot program to increase wages for nurse educators and other efforts to recruit and retain faculty.
