Earlier this week, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) the launch of its . The division will build on the agency’s digital health care research program, whose is to “produce and disseminate evidence about how the evolving digital health care ecosystem can best advance the quality, safety, and effectiveness of health care for patients and their families.” AHRQ applies the term “digital health care” to both the transfer of information between patient and provider and “the intelligent use of all related data.” Last month AHRQ announced a related research funding intended to support large-scale projects improving communication and care transitions via health information technologies.
