The researchers used hospitals with a as a proxy for nursing excellence. The study found significant differences between Magnet and non-Magnet hospitals when it came to patients’ “likelihood to recommend,” “overall rating score” and assessment of “physician concern about the patient’s questions or worries.” The researchers also found a small but meaningful difference between patient assessments of physicians’ skill between the two sets of hospitals.
