Study links nursing excellence to physician performance

by the chief nursing and medical officers at Press Ganey revealed a positive association between nursing excellence and hospital scores on the Press Ganey HCAPHS patient satisfaction . The researchers used hospitals with a as a proxy for nursing excellence. The study found significant differences between Magnet and non-Magnet hospitals when it came to patients鈥 鈥渓ikelihood to recommend,鈥 鈥渙verall rating score鈥 and assessment of 鈥減hysician concern about the patient鈥檚 questions or worries.鈥 The researchers also found a small but meaningful difference between patient assessments of physicians鈥 skill between the two sets of hospitals.
