Study examines nursing workflow鈥檚 relationship to infection

A small pilot , in which researchers observed how individual nurses organized care in precaution versus non-precaution rooms, noted that differences in how nurses structure their work may contribute to the risk of infectious disease transmission. Qualitative data were collected while shadowing four nurses on two medical/surgical units at a university medical center between September and October 2016. The study appears in the May 2019 issue of the American Journal of Infection Control, which includes additional on hand hygiene and infection prevention.
