This week the DAISY Foundation the appointment of Deborah Zimmermann, DNP, RN, as the organization’s chief executive officer. Zimmermann, who is  AONL’s president-elect, began serving on the foundation’s board in 2018 and ran its award program. She previously served as chief nursing officer and vice president of patient care services at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System, based in Richmond, Va., and will assume her new role on Nov. 1. “She has the brainpower, business perspective, and importantly for us, the heart to take DAISY’s mission into the future as nursing and health care are transformed post-pandemic,” said Bonnie Barnes, DAISY’s current CEO.
