NCC thanks sponsors of workers’ compensation access bill

ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúand 49 other members of the Nursing Community Coalition members of Congress for supporting legislation to improve access to workers’ compensation. The bipartisan Improving Access to Workers’ Compensation for Injured Federal Workers Act (/) would eliminate outdated barriers in the Federal Employees’ Compensation Act limiting the ability of nurse practitioners to provide care and treatment for injured or ill federal employees. Sens. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, and Susan Collins, R-Maine, and Reps. Tim Walberg, R-Mich., and Joe Courtney, D-Conn., introduced the bill. Meanwhile, all 63 NCC members signed a sent during National Nurses Week urging Congress to take action on top appropriations and legislative priorities affecting nursing education, workforce, practice and research.
