To advance nationwide efforts to increase diversity among nursing students, Chamberlain University a framework connecting the social determinants of health to what the school calls the “social determinants of learning.” The research-based framework identifies six core factors schools should consider in building a more diverse pipeline: physical health, psychosocial health, economic stability, physical environment/community, social environment/community and self-motivation. A published this summer includes examples of initiatives aimed at addressing these factors. (HealthLeaders Media , 9/24/21)
