Sharon Pappas, PhD, RN, CNO at Emory Healthcare in Atlanta, will receive AONL’s prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award in May at this year’s annual conference in Anaheim, Calif. A leader within ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúsince 2013, Pappas served on the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúBoard of Directors and currently serves as AONL’s representative to the Commission on Magnet Recognition, which she also chairs. She recently chaired the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúWorkforce Subcommittee on Leadership. Pappas also served on a National Academies committee on clinician well-being, which issued a report used nationally to measure burnout and improve working conditions for nurses and others. Each year, the award honors an ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúmember who served ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúin an important leadership capacity and is recognized as a significant leader within the nursing profession.
